Ring, which deploys home security devices under Amazon of the United States, has released Ring Alarm Pro, a security device with built-in Wi-Fi routers, overseas. Ring, which was acquired by Amazon in 2018, is deploying smart doorbells and security cameras.
The router installed on Ring Alarm Pro is a company called Eero. It is also a company acquired by Amazon in 2019 to sell mesh Wi-Fi routers that combine multiple devices.
And this Ring Alarm Pro is the product that integrates Ring and Eero's areas of expertise.
Motion sensors and door and window sensors that cooperate with base stations detect intruders, such as thieves. In addition, we also cooperate with fire and moisture sensors to detect and report our own crisis.
Eero's Wi-Fi 6 router is built into the base station to provide a fast and reliable network connection at home. The advantage of Ring Alarm Pro is the integration of these offline (physical) and online protection.
Unlike ordinary Wi-Fi routers, which want to work in emergencies, security devices have also released a battery pack that can extend the uptime of the base station for up to 24 hours (using four batteries) in the event of a power outage.
In addition, Ring Alarm Pro can keep videos from other Ring devices internally. Storage uses 64 GB SD cards sold separately. Note that to use Ring Alarm Pro's integrated security system, you need to join the "Protect Pro" of the payment plan ($20 per month, $200 per year).
The program provides cloud video storage and professional surveillance, Alexa Guard Plus, LTE module 24-hour, 365-day backup Internet connection, and Eero network security functions. The price of the Ring Alarm Pro is $249.99 (about 28,000 yen). Offline and online security systems can be imported into the home at the same time, and can be managed comprehensively, which is a major advantage of this product.
