-What was the starting point of this project?

From there, I thought about what the theme to go to, but since I was a child, I thought it was a time when I loved robots, and I could make works on AI with a major feeling.I thought about the idea of jub nile mainly based on AI, and wrote it until the first draft, but there is no punch to do it in the original.

At that time, Mr. Okochi, who had been together in the project that had disappeared earlier, asked the script to see if he could give me impressions.

Okochi: Was that from Yoshiura -san!?

Yoshiura That's right.He said he wanted an objective opinion from himself.In some cases, I thought it would be better to do it with other scriptwriters.So, would you please give me your opinion and write it together?I asked.

Okochi I heard that story for the first time, can you tell me your opinion from the producer?I received a script.At that time, I don't think I'm involved, and I want to have an opinion, so if I send a strict thing because I want a dry opinion, can I show it to the director?I was surprised because I was told (laughs).

However, when I read the script, I thought this project was good.There was a place where Mr. Yoshiura thought it was good, and where I thought it would be nice to see Yoshiura movies, so it felt reasonable.However, I wrote such opinions, whether it would be better to organize here and here, and that it would be better to understand Zion's secrets a little earlier.

I was aware that there was a little rough place in the technical part of Yoshiura script, and in the previous project, there was a place where I thought "I see", so I wanted to write it together.is.However, at this stage, there was no element of the song yet.

At that stage, it was already a story centered on AI characters, but it was said that the character that scratched around should give some unique personality and characteristics, and suddenly "Singing.The idea of "put out" was born.

When I saw it, when I was a junior and senior high school student, I remembered that someday I wanted to make an animation with a song element like a musical.I thought it would be intuitive, but I thought it would be intuitive, so let's sing!have become.

Is it difficult to realize the elements of the Oguchi song, and is it difficult because it can't be combined with the story that was created earlier?I thought, but I thought it would be nice if I could do it.

It was an image that agreed immediately, but I felt it was very difficult.

Okochi: I agree with it because I thought it would be better to make what I liked.It's best to do what the director thinks is better than making something that seems to sell such a work or because there is such an order.

Yoshiura: When I was a junior and senior high school student, I was in the middle of the 1990s, and it was a time when anime characters were not singing or dancing yet, but I saw Disney movies and wanted to make this kind of work someday.is.From there, the times have progressed, and even TV anime is not unusual for characters to sing and dance, but I think there is still no animation like a musical that I once wanted to do, so I should do it now.I feel like I decided.

-What is different from a normal script to make a musical a script?

Yoshiura: The first thing I said was that it wasn't a story that was established without a song, but a work that would make the song move forward.

Okochi Musical is a unique genre, so only those who are looking forward to it should watch it, but I think some people don't like it.But the movie "La La Land" (released in Japan in 2017) does not start with a musical, but even if you are not good at it, you will open a gap in your mind and musical.I felt that the method of bringing it was new.Looking at it, it's about to be done.

That's why I didn't want to make a movie that only musical lovers watch a musical.

Yoshiura: So, you thought quite a bit, who sang and where, for example, what kind of song the first song was?

When I first sang Oguchi, I told you that you couldn't enter unless the characters were pulled once, just like the customers' feelings.

Yoshiura suddenly draws the reaction that if a girl sings in front of me, the surroundings will be like this, but in that sense, the compatibility with the AI character was good."Because it's a ponkotsu AI, it's okay to sing suddenly."It was interesting to create a composition that resonated with the other person's heart every time the song was repeated, and eventually a very good song could be accepted by other characters.

-Then, the content of the lyrics will be important, right?

From the early stage of Yoshiura, I told the music staff that the song has this meaning in the story.I thought that it would not work with a round throw, so I added such information in the tune, tempo, and lyrics, and specified that it would be decided to settle this way, but it was good compatibility, Yohei Matsui, who wrote the lyrics, also composed Ryo Takahashi.Give me something good from your eyes.

-The singing of the song is AI's Zion, but are the lines and the like considered AI?

In fact, Miyomi does not write AI like AI.Even though I was looking at "Eve's time", I thought that it would show me it, so I wrote it normally.But when I was watching Taiho Tsuchiya's acting, I thought this was wonderful because the voice actors had a slightly different feeling.

Yoshiura seems to have the consciousness of writing a robot -like lines (laughs), and rather, there are too many shadows that ordinary people should have because of their behavior and behavior.I felt uncomfortable, so I thought I could get an AI feeling there.And if you feel a normal feeling, "Satomi, are you happy now?"But the atmosphere of Tsuchiya, which says that, was really right, and the character was established there.From there, the flow of the story calmed down with a good balance that Zion gradually became more attractive.

-What kind of direction did you do to Tsuchiya?

Yoshiura I asked you not to make a negative voice.Zion doesn't get angry or sad.When I was in trouble, I was playing with a cute feeling rather than really in trouble, and I thought it was amazing because it was devised.

-The Tsuchiya's song was also wonderful.

-While using the same motif to blend the melody, the place where the lyrics are changed is the musical method, right?

Yoshiura's first song, "You Need A Friend -You need a friend-", and the musical scene "You've Got Friends -You have a friend-" is the refrain.At first, it looks like AI, and it's a poker -like song, but after a story, you can hear a very good song in "You've Got Friends -You have friends-".The composition is to permeate both the audience and the main characters.The motifs have appeared many times in other plays, so I think it has become a music play -like configuration.It was great that Mr. Takahashi was good at Western -style films.There was a big band jazz and I wanted to make the music look diverse, so he really played the perfect song.

-In that sense, it's a place to look forward to what the song actually happens.

Okochi That's right.When I was writing, I didn't know what would happen to the song, so I wrote it imagining that something really good would come up.

Because, for example, Satomi (CV).Haruka Fukuhara) is about 30 feelings, and after listening to Zion's song, if it reaches 80, the song must have 50 power.So if she doubts that her song is not so much power, she thinks that if she doesn't raise Satomi's feelings to 40 or 50 at the script, she will not be connected well.So I believed in the power of the song and wrote that about 150 songs would come.

When I saw the combination of all of them at the preview, I thought it was good.It was really nice to not want to set up a script with a script.Because it is definitely better to have a song that exceeds the imagination and raise your feelings.

Yoshiura: I didn't feel the pressure there, and as I mentioned earlier, I had the desire to do musicals, so I guess I could finally do it.During the production, I didn't really think that the power of the song would not be enough.It may have been paralyzed somewhere (laughs), but I thought I could do it without blurring because it was a stance of trying to put my current feelings anyway without thinking deeply.

-There was the power of the song, but especially in the middle of the solar panel, the production was very beautiful.

Yoshiura That's right, and he understood the intentions of the scene and did his best.The fireworks scene was decided more neatly than I expected, so I think it was good.

-There was a scene like the world of electronic, but it was a dreamy expression like an electrical parade.

Yoshiura: That is a digital space that has been captured by Zion, and I think that it will look like a person of that person.I guess it's not a mechanic, it's a fun and gorgeous feeling.When I told it to the CG team, I thought it was wonderful because something was perfect.

It's almost like Yoshiura Oguchi's work, but there's a lot of positive places for technology.How to draw images and how to play in the story.A long time ago, it would be a rebellion of AI, but I like it.

-I felt so much about that.I think AI's rebellion is the result of AI's self -evolution, but I wondered how much I wanted to tell the audience in this work.

I don't like the Yoshiura AI from myself, and it's a human being and it's a human being, so I think technology is a copy mirror.So I believe that if the user is right, I will go to the right future, and I need to sound a warning bell there, but 80 % of the works that handle AI seem to be in that direction.I wanted to draw the future of going in a better direction without hesitation.I just decided to draw positively.

It is the same as pointing out the dangers during the Okochi work, as everyone's first drawing in the musical scene, because the positive spirit of the director is not something that everyone has.I know that people who think "eh?"There are opinions that advocate the danger of self -evolution, but I wanted to be able to do it, so I wanted to put the opposite person (a fear of AI).That is.

Yoshiura: That's the case.

ー ー I may have seen such a work, but it was a type that thought, "Is it okay?"。

I think Yoshiura Fiction will affect reality, so I think a movie that draws a good future is also a role of fiction.

ー ー ー ー I was a little worried about AI, but it was a depiction of this city, but it was like an old private house, but I felt that technology such as AI was naturally in my life.

In the image of the transition period of Yoshiura AI, I thought it would be unnatural to have an infrastructure with various AI functions, so I thought it would be more natural to delay it to an existing one.Home appliances and buses are what we are used to, but the fact that it is partially different is the concept of the whole.That's why there are old houses, and there are modern condominiums for company housing, but as a software, AI is an image that it is intervening in life so that it is inconspicuous.

It's like an experimental city of Okochi, and it's like a group called interstellar electronics is working hard.However, if I changed to a person's life, I thought that there would be no one living there, so I wrote that household appliances were the same as the robot was developed as a hardware.

Yoshiura: In this work, only the depiction of humanoid hardware is a place where a big lie as a movie. Nevertheless, I wanted to create a real world view, so I decided that humanoid labor support robots are not yet accepted by ordinary households. Even in the play, a general -purpose humanoid robot called "Santo" comes out, but if you have a robot of the same height as yourself, you are afraid to just walk. Therefore, there is a dilemma that users do not accept it, and the manufacturer is working hard to work hard. That's why Hoshima designs the robot so hard, and has a robot planting rice in a demonstration. In fact, it's only useless for robots for robots (laughs).

Okochi robot is a promotion that is not scary.
