On February 24, Nippon Tect Systems Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of DeNA Co., Ltd., used telephone cognitive function check and interactive AI (artificial intelligence) with NTT DoCoMo Co., Ltd. Therefore, we have signed a "Collaboration Agreement on Automation of Telephone Response Operations Using AI" aiming to solve social issues and healthcare-related issues associated with aging. From the beginning of April 2022, we plan to start verifying the usefulness of this solution in actual business.
Under this agreement, the recognition function check tool "ONSEI" provided by Japan Tect Systems and the telephone response automation service "AI Telephone Service" provided by Docomo will be linked, and recognition will be achieved by talking with AI over the phone. We aim to provide a service that allows you to check the functions. By using this service, users can check their cognitive function and check their health simply by making or receiving a call.
Check cognitive function by calling daily to elderly people aged 65 and over, and if cognitive function is impaired, cooperate with the Community Comprehensive Care Center and family members. An elderly person aged 65 or over will also make a phone call to check the status of cognitive function as a preliminary check when renewing a driver's license. If you have poor cognitive function, suggest that you visit a medical institution before renewing your license.
In addition, regarding the healthcare check of the transportation industry driver, the employee calls before starting work to check the cognitive function. If there is no telephone contact from the employee, the call will be made automatically. If cognitive function is impaired, an alert can be sent to the administrator for further response. It can also be used as a daily voice report.
There are cases in which a person is involved in a traffic accident due to a decline in cognitive function, or conversely becomes a perpetrator of the accident. While the number of license holders aged 75 and over is on the rise, it is reported that hundreds of accidents occur every year in cars driven by the elderly. According to the "Experience of an elderly driver with cognitive decline and his family" released by a research team at Ehime Prefectural University of Health Sciences, the risk of a driver with dementia having a collision is 2.5 to 4.7 for a healthy driver of the same age. It also became clear that it was double.
In such a situation, it is important to take appropriate medical measures at an early stage and delay the progression of dementia by noticing signs of cognitive decline at the MCI (mild cognitive impairment) stage.
In addition, long working hours have become the norm due to the shortage of drivers in the transportation industry in response to the increasing demand for home delivery. According to Japan Tect Systems, since accidents have a large impact on the business, transportation companies carry out health examinations several times a year and health checks by roll calls every day, but the cost and management work are burdensome. It is said that it depends.
Based on the technology and know-how cultivated so far, Nippon Tect Systems and DoCoMo will contribute to society by developing a cognitive function check service that can be used by as many people as possible.
