I may not have cleaned my earphones at all...that's not good! So, a summary of how to care for each company's wireless earphones

Carefully sniff your wireless earbuds. You may want to clean up now.

Wireless earphones that are now part of your ears. I stick it in my ear hole for hours every day, and it may be the one who touches my skin the most than anyone else. I think there are a surprising number of people who clean their ears every day, but maybe they don't clean their earphones very often. Me too.

It goes without saying, but regular cleaning is hygienic and can extend the life of your earphones. This time, we will introduce how to care for AirPods, Galaxy Buds, and Pixel Buds that are officially released by Apple, Samsung, and Google. If you have other wireless earphones, I think you can take care of them in a similar way.

How to clean your AirPods

The first caveat to cleaning Apple's official AirPods (AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, EarPods) is to not wash them off with water.

However, you can lightly dampen the cloth with water. After carefully wiping it off with the cloth, dry it with a soft, lint-free cloth such as a cleaning cloth to remove any moisture. Make sure it's completely dry before putting it back into the charging case. It's a good idea to clean the microphone and speaker mesh with a dry cotton swab.

Disinfectant wipes are available, but should be limited to gently wiping exterior surfaces with 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes, 75% ethyl alcohol wipes, or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes . Again, be careful not to let moisture or moisture get in.

The ear tips can be removed from the AirPods and washed with water, but avoid using soap or detergent. Then, after confirming that the ear tip is completely dry, reattach it to the AirPods.

You can also clean your AirPods charging case with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. If necessary, you can lightly dampen the cloth with isopropyl alcohol, but be careful not to get liquid in the charging port. Also, if the Lightning connector is clogged with dirt or dust, use a clean, dry brush with soft bristles to remove it.

How to care for your Galaxy Buds

A guide has been published to show you how to care for Samsung earbuds, including the Galaxy Buds.

As with AirPods, wipe off sweat or other moisture from the charging contacts of the earbuds with a clean, soft cloth. Be careful not to allow water to accumulate on the charging contacts, as this may cause corrosion.

There are many different types of Galaxy Buds, but the basics are the same. First remove the ear tip by gently and gently sliding it off. For the Galaxy Buds Live, remove the wingtips (small rubber bands attached to the charging contacts).

Then, use a cotton swab or dry brush to carefully remove dirt (dust, earwax, oil, etc.) from the earphone and eartip (or wingtip). Avoid using metal or wire brushes as they can damage the earbuds. If the earphone has an air duct, clean the air duct as well.

With a soft, dry cloth, gently wipe the inside of the earphone tip as well. Don't forget to clean the charging contacts of the charging case. Replace the ear tips on the Galaxy Buds after cleaning.

How to care for your Pixel Buds

The official care instructions for your Pixel Buds (or Pixel Buds A) are also available with a video. Even though the Pixel Buds are sweat and water resistant, never try to flush the earbuds under running water or submerge them in water as this can damage the hardware. Also, be careful not to use chemical detergents, powders, or other chemicals (such as alcohol or benzene).

Google, like many other manufacturers, recommends cleaning with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. If necessary, a damp cloth or cotton swab can be used to wipe away scratches and build-up on the exterior of the charging case, but avoid getting moisture in crevices such as the USB-C port. It is recommended to use a soft bristle toothbrush to clean the earbuds. Gently insert the bristles of a toothbrush into the microphone hole or speaker opening and move the toothbrush back and forth to remove earwax and other debris. Do not move the toothbrush from side to side as it may spread or stain the earwax. Then make sure all parts are completely dry before putting it back into the charging case.

It is recommended to never get any manufacturer's earphones wet, and to clean them gently and carefully with a soft, dry cloth that does not produce lint, such as a cleaning cloth.

Don't forget to clean your earphones.
