CES 2022 was the first in-person event in two years due to the pandemic.
It was the beginning of a turbulent situation where major companies and media suddenly decided to return to remote participation due to the Omicron disaster (US Giz is also remote ... crying), but the venue was full of masterpieces. Ambitious notebooks, infinitely beautiful TVs, mind-boggling cars, and mini gadgets that make life a little easier have come together to fill the long, dark COVID tunnel with a ray of hope.
Here are the best CES gadgets that kicked off the new year despite all the odds!
007's Q! And the topic boils. The world's first ever-changing car by BMW.
What will happen to the wanted list while on the run?!? and white just go back and forth. e-ink can also be used for things like this. The range of application will be widened.
On a hot day, there is also the practical advantage of repelling light and avoiding a steam bath. There are currently no plans to add it as an official option to the new car, but it would be a waste to end with a design concept! Many people think so. —Andrew Liszewski
What did you think? ASUS made a folding notebook that is too big.
"Huh? Notebooks are originally foldable..." No, please take a good look. Look, the screen folds up, screen. Like a foldable smartphone that turns into a notebook when unfolded, it is a mutant notebook PC that becomes something beyond a notebook when unfolded. There is no doubt that it will float if you spread it out at a cafe.
"If you fold the screen, the keyboard will disappear"? No, this is no problem because the lower side can be used as a software keyboard. Just in case, a physical keyboard is also included in the package.
"If you put the keyboard in front of the folded screen, the screen is far away!"? Oh, it seems that this is used in the arrangement like the upper left of the photo. When you're watching a movie or something, unfold it like this and flip the kickstand up to transform it into a 17.3-inch 2.5K (2560 x 1920) OLED touchscreen. Window transitions when switching modes can be operated with the included ScreenXpert 2 software. No omissions in all directions.
Mankind's first (and probably the last) 17-inch folding notebook. I don't remember asking anyone to make one, but they did. In the second year of the pandemic, everyone wants to be a little selfish and want to do what they want. In that sense, it evokes sympathy. I want to live like ASUS. Personally, it was the most intense I've seen at CES this year. I hope ASUS continues to do the same. (Phillip Tracy)
One of the most buzzed products at this year's CES is SONY's QD-OLED TV "Bravia XR A95K". QD-OLED is an OLED with quantum dots, as the name "quantum dot organic light-emitting diode" suggests. In 2013, SONY released the world's first quantum dot TV, and it was a hot topic, but after that, it canceled sales and Samsung acquired QD Vision, a US venture that was in trouble. There is a history of suddenly reviving the Q in opposition to the organic EL LG.
This Bravia XR A95K also has a display made by Samsung (Samsung did not exhibit a quantum dot TV). The deep black of organic EL is combined with vivid colors and brightness, and the use of quantum dots widens the viewing angle and makes the light output more uniform.
Unlike regular OLEDs, QOLEDs only use blue diodes. With this, we succeeded in reproducing the entire color gamut visible to the naked eye. I wanted to see the real thing. Possibly Q-chan will sooner or later drive out OLED in the field of high-end TVs. Keep an eye on offense and defense. (Brianna Provenzano)
Games are online, 4K movies are also online. I can see the slope of 8K, and no matter how much Wi-Fi evolves, I can't catch up! Every day I feel like this, but a mesh router costs over $1,000 (about 114,000 yen). Fi 6E compatible router "Archer AXE200 Omni" is now available from TP-Link!
As the name Archer suggests, it detects the direction of the heavy use who uses the net, and the four antennas move and concentrate the arrows of radio waves. Don't miss smartphones, tablets, PCs, and game consoles. Even if you carry it around the house, it's a hateful guy that tracks your steps and adjusts it. —Andrew Liszewski
HyperX has created gaming headphones with incredible battery life. It can be used for 300 hours on a single charge.
Impact that needs no further explanation. Because the competition is at most double digits, at most 100 hours. That's two weeks at a stretch... I'm surprised. The sound quality and performance are almost the same as the wired type, and the design is basically the same, with the upgraded Dual Chamber Technology and 50mm drivers (DTS:X) making the ear cups even slimmer, so it's even more surprising.
I haven't tried it yet, but HyperX says the battery is a 1,500 mAh Lithium Polymer battery with "300 hours of continuous operation at 50% volume," according to an "external test company." It is the number obtained. The actual machine will arrive in February, so I'll try it at that time to see if it's true or not. —Phillip Tracy
At first glance, it's an Android tablet that operates smart home appliances, but in fact, it's just like that impression. I need it. Everyone likes voice assistants such as Google and Alexa, but it's getting harder and harder to talk, and I can't help but stretch my finger to the switch. So it's a new product that responds to such "some voice commands".
While ordinary tablets have separate switches for each home appliance, Home Hub is different in that it can centrally manage the remote control of smart home appliances throughout the house. In addition to using it as a launcher for Samsung's own app "SmartThings", you can manage family routines, view other Samsung services (SmartThings Cooking / Clothing), monitor air conditions, You can also check the power consumption of Samsung home appliances. Starting with the release in South Korea in March, it will be rolled out worldwide. (Florence Ion)
LG, the top runner of organic EL. The next-generation model "OLED EX" announced this year has a 30% increase in brightness, covering the biggest weakness of organic EL. Improvements in panel technology have improved the accuracy of images, and the bezel has been slimmed down from 6mm to 4mm.
The technology base (self-luminous pixels) is the same, but the two differences are that the EX integrates isotopes (called deuterium) and integrates image processing by algorithms.
The high-end model "G2" and popular version "C2" series of organic EL adopt high-performance panel OLED evo, and it was a gorgeous new year. The EX is scheduled to start manufacturing at two sites from the second quarter of next year. —Phillip Tracy
For $2,000, you can mount a 65-inch OLED 4K TV on the wall and enjoy super gorgeous images from morning to night. It's been 2 years since I didn't go to the cinema in Corona. I'm tired of it! If so, $2,000 should be enough to buy Anker's latest 4K projector, the Nebula Cosmos Laser.
The Nebula Cosmos Laser is a handy projector for movie nights at home. The brightness is 2,400 ANSI lumens, so it's a bit difficult to use with the curtains wide open on a sunny day. Organic EL is much better for that. However, if you are in a dark place, you can enjoy 4K images in detail on the wall or screen with an extra-large size of 150 inches.
It's easy to set up, you can focus without doing anything anymore, it's not bent or distorted, and it's a good point that it's perfectly horizontal and square. With two 30W side speakers, the room is flooded with sound. The sound is at a satisfactory level even when used in the garden.
It's also compatible with Android TV, so you can use hundreds of services, games, and media players. The world spreads out just by keeping the internet connected. —Andrew Liszewski
While it looks like a Surface Pro, inside it has a powerful GPU power that can withstand the use of the latest games. Such a PC gamer's long-held dream machine is now available from ASUS.
Flow Z13 is a new work that added improvements to ROG Flow X13 announced at CES last year. Although it is a 13-inch tablet, the specs are as good as a 17-inch gaming notebook PC, with an Intel Core i9-12900H CPU and an Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti GPU.
It's tough enough on its own, but crazy enough, it even has a PCIe 3.0 x8 port. If you insert an external eGPU unit "XG Mobile eGPU" (sold separately) here, you can add external power such as Nvidia's mobile GPU GeForce RTX 3080 and AMD's latest PU Radeon RX 6850M XT to make a small 1349g tablet super. It will be a big change to a gaming system that can handle high image quality play crisply.
Scheduled to be released in the first or second quarter of this year. We don't know the price yet, but the eGPU unit alone will set you back $1,500, so we can expect the main unit to be about the same. It's been a while since I've seen a PC with such impressive specs, but it's probably out of reach for most gamers. (Phillip Tracy)
bends bends. A display that makes you feel like you need to bend it. Its name is "Odyssey Ark". The size is 55 inches. It is said that it is no longer a “gaming display” for personal use, but that is why it is the best. In many ways.
Curvature 1000R. When I realized that I didn't intend to be immersed in it, my head was physically immersed in it. You can adjust the height and orientation by pivoting (screen rotation), so the ARK can become ridiculously long vertically.
Settings can be controlled with a wireless remote control. Since the remote control supports Samsung's multi-view function, it is also possible to display multiple games and windows at the desired resolution at once. Quantum dot technology and mini-LED backlight are used, so the image quality is also good.
Does that mean that Ark is the result of looking into Rimowa and game displays? Pricing hasn't been announced yet, but it won't be cheap either. (Sam Rutherford)
This year's CES is all about smart homes. I've also seen companies declaring support for the unified standard Matter, which is convenient! What I thought was Schlage's latest smart lock "Schlage Encode Plus" compatible with iOS 15 Home Key.
Once you've attached it to your door and set up Home Key, all you have to do is hold your Apple Watch or iPhone over the smart lock to unlock it. It also supports Alexa and Google voice commands.
If your smartphone is stolen, it's over! If you are worried about it, you can prevent the door from opening unless you authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode used on your iPhone.
It also supports Power Reserve, so even if your iPhone's battery runs out, you can still unlock it within 5 hours.
Also, if you forget your smartphone or smartphone, you can enter the room by simply entering the PIN code into Encode Plus. They say the ideal smart lock is simple like this. I want to try it soon. (Florence Ion)
Where does the wind blow due to the lack of chips, and at CES, Intel, AMD, and Nvidia are the latest CPUs and GPUs that will be responsible for future notebooks and desktops I've been announcing the cancer cancer.
Resurgent Intel announces 12th-generation chips billed as "fastest mobile processors." Until I try it in practical use, I have to ask half of the story, but as far as the published benchmark is concerned, it's not a lie, it's full of explosive speed.
We used the Core i9-12900HK SKU for testing with a clock speed of 5.0GHz. The results even beat AMD's Ryzen 5900HX and Apple's M1 Max. In-house testing also confirmed that the performance of games was improved by up to 28% and work applications by up to 44% compared to the previous generation. The 12th generation CPU also adds new technologies such as DDR5 standard RAM, PCIe 4.0, Wi-Fi 6E, and Thunderbolt 4 to support future gaming notebooks and high-end notebooks. People who buy notebooks this year may be lucky. —Phillip Tracy
I thought Samsung would be the only one pushing Q, but it was SONY that adopted QD-OLED for its flagship TV, the long-awaited Alienware product. I'm surprised that even a 34-inch monitor is a QD-OLED.
3440 x 1400, 175Hz refresh rate, 0.1ms response time. Color coverage is DCI-P3 99.3%, ΔE color difference is less than 2.0, and maximum brightness is 1,000nits (!). It's so bright that the sun will blind your eyes.
No price announced. Probably because it's a heart-stopping price, I refrained from announcing it... or something like that. Released on March 29th. It will definitely put a hole in your wallet. —Phillip Tracy
. This is the end of the primitive life of searching every shelf in the house every time the remote control battery dies.
At CES 2022, Samsung launched the Eco Remote, which is made from recycled materials and self-charges with radio waves emitted from Wi-Fi routers. The company announced in 2019 that it would move away from plastic packaging, and has been pushing sustainable materials at every turn. It successfully delivers on that commitment by making effective use of
Like the previous generation, it can be charged by sunlight, but the acquisition of a new technique to catch radio waves has reinforced the charging capacity.
Samsung says all of its 2022 QLED 4K and 8K TVs will come automatically in the box, ultimately removing 99 million AAA batteries from landfills over the next seven years. It seems to be a calculation that can be saved? It's a small thing, but it's not a bad result at all. I hope it spreads more. (Brianna Provenzano)
